Beginners Guide to Hoverboard Riding.
If you’re just starting out, and keen to learn how to ride a hoverboard, here’s a little guide to help get you going in 5 minutes flat.
First thing to do, make sure your hoverboard is fully charged. Set it up and place it facing you, just in front of your toes. There is no front and rear, however some people say that LED lights are supposed to be flashing and should be at the back.
How to ride a hoverboard
What you need to do is put your right foot (or left, whichever is more comfortable) on the board. You have to make sure of two things:
- your foot should be as close as possible to the wheel. One mistake we made when we started was that our feet did not have as wide a position as possible, which makes hoverboarding much more difficult.
- Now, once your right foot is on the skateboard electric , you just raise your left foot as you would to climb stairs.
Your first reaction will be to tense up, and this will cause you to swing back and forth.
The best thing you can do is to look ahead of you, not look down. And relax! Do not even think about moving, just relax and feel your balance on the hoverboard .
So far so good.
How to move on an electric skateboard
To move around, the best way to do it is to simply focus where you want to go and gently lean. As you probably already know, on hoverboard , you lean in the direction you want to go. If you lean too much, you will fall. So, lean forward gently to try to move forward slowly at first.
How to turn with a hoverboard
Next, try a slight turn. This should come naturally. Basically, you initiate the turn by twisting the foot that is in opposite your direction of rotation. If you want to turn left, just push your right foot forward. This is like steering a bicycle.
To make tighter turns, you can start twisting the other foot, causing the heel to drop. When you are an expert in electric skateboard , you can literally turn on the spot like this.
How to practice hoverboard
Once you have these basic movements in your pocket, you should try to make looping circuits, turning in one direction, until you are more and more relaxed and confident in how it feels. When you feel comfortable enough, switch things up and do loops in one direction, then switch and run loops the opposite direction.
How to get off a hoverboard
To get off the hoverboard , you just do the opposite of what you did to get on board. Try to move your dominant foot, then go down with your second foot. Sometimes you will have the instinct to jump, but try to resist, and make a controlled stop. You will reduce the risk of injury and also of scratching your hoverboard.
Keep in mind that starting and stopping is probably the most difficult part of the process and it is what will take you the most time to master. Just practice stopping and dismounting from time to time to get used to it.
